Meet the team
Jonathan Grey
Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
BVetMed MBiochem CertAVP(SAM) MRCVS
Jonathan's interest in veterinary studies began while he was a student at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he completed his Master of Biochemistry degree in 2006. He went on to complete his fast track veterinary degree at the Royal Veterinary College in London, qualifying in 2010.
Jonathan then worked in small animal practice in St Albans and South Wales before moving to Cambridge, working for the Village Vet group for three years where he met Gloria. Jonathan and Gloria opened Vets4Pets in Haverhill in 2017 and Vets4Pets Saffron Walden in 2019 as Joint Venture Partners.
Jonathan completed the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2016 and was an RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine from 2016-2021. His interests include management of complex medical cases, cardiology and soft tissue surgery. He is hoping to complete a certificate in Small Animal Surgery in the near future.
Out of work Jonathan enjoys running, listening to a variety of music genres and drinking coffee!
Gloria graduated in Italy in 1996 where she worked in a small animal practice while starting her PhD in Infectious Diseases, which she completed in the year 2.
She has been working with companion animals in the UK for the last 16 years, the last 9 of which as Head Veterinary Surgeon for a big hospital with a busy out of hours service.
Gloria’s main fields of interest are internal medicine and dermatology and she thrives in creating that rapport of mutual trust with the client and their pets which she believes is the very essence of the high standard of care she strives to provide.
In her spare time - whatever that means! - she enjoys running, dancing, cooking and spending time with her daughter and her cats. Over the last 3 years she has also gained qualification as a hypnotherapist and a counsellor (for human beings, not pets!)
Isabella graduated in December 2013 in Italy and started her career in a Veterinary Practice mainly treating companion animals. She developed an early interest in Radiology and Ultrasonography and completed a Masters degree in Small Animal Imaging in 2018.
In 2019 she moved to the UK with her family to embrace a new challenge and in 2021 met Jonathan and Gloria and joined the Vets4Pets team. To break the pressure of work Isa loves to share laughs and eat cookies!
Isabella has a very busy life and when she does get some free time she likes to cuddle her furry, squeaky Guinea Pigs, swim and visit new places. She is also an amazing cook and loves to sing recently joining the Haverhill Singers Choir.
Dinah Skertchly
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVS
Amina graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020. Before joining the Vets4Pets team, she worked in a very busy 24 hour practice where she gained a lot of out of hours experience. She is a valued member of our team and has a passion for Opthalmology and a keen interest in soft tissue surgery.
Outside of work she enjoys horse riding (the best way to de-stress), long dog walks with her rescue Savi and she has an elderly cat called Misty to keep her busy too!
Freya has been part of the Saffron Walden team since it opened in 2019 after transferring from another Vets4Pets. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016 and loves all aspects of nursing but if she can will avoid eye surgeries!
Freya has a keen interest in dentistry, x-rays and organising to ensure our practice runs like clockwork behind those consult doors!
In her spare time she loves walking her dog Ned with her partner, baking, learning French and getting creative with a needle in hand!
Susan
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN
Ella joined Vets4Pets in September 2018 when she started her training and became a RVN in October 2022.
Ella has a keen interest in anaesthesia and working with our smaller patients such as rabbits, guinea pigs and rats. Ella has also worked with animals abroad including Ostriches, Buffalo and a Lion!
In her spare time you will find her on the stage entertaining us all or spending time with Missie her Boxer dog, Dexter the Rabbit and Daisy the Chinchilla.
Leanne started her nursing career in 2012 in a busy practice in London working closely with the RSPCA both in practice and as a shelter volunteer. She loves most aspects of nursing but has a keen interest in anaesthesia, emergency and critical care.
Leanne is also one of our Clinical Coaches teaching all the future veterinary nurses everything they need to know and supporting them through their studies ensuring the next generation of nurses have the very best start in their careers.
In her spare time Leanne loves exploring the English countryside with her dog Odin who's a Lab x Collie x German Pointer!
Emma started with Vets4Pets in May 2021 as a Clinical Care Advisor after working as an Animal Health Assistant for another Veterinary Practice. In December 2021 she was promoted to Practice Manager of Saffron Walden and Haverhill Vets4Pets. Emma has an extensive customer service background having previously worked as Cabin Crew and for Essex Police, she also has spent a number of years working within the Equine industry and worked for two Olympic Medalists.
Outside of work Emma spends most of her time with her three English Springer Spaniels two of which spend a lot of time at Saffron Walden and are very popular with the clients!
If not with the dogs she can be found on the side of football pitch watching her daughter play or supporting Cambridge United.
Bev started her career in South East London at the PDSA as a trainee Veterinary Nurse and worked her way up to Head Nurse she left there to start up and run a new private practice in Chelsea.
Bev then moved to Essex after getting married and worked as a Critical Care Night Nurse at a large Animal Hospital before leaving to have her son. She joined the Vets4Pets team in November 2021.
In her spare time she cares for her two cats Sonny and Coco and rescuing mice, birds and rabbits from said pets and also trying to remember where she puts things! She's also very partial to a Jammy Dodger!!
