Meet the team
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2016 and I have worked in small animal practice since then – in and around Newcastle, finally settling at Bedlington Vets4Pets.
I am originally from Newcastle – so naturally in my spare time I enjoy exploring our beautiful coastline and the amazing countryside we have on our doorstep - with my beautiful Flat Coated Retriever 'Trudie'. I’ve always said there is no place in the world like the North East of England – I love it!
I am really looking forward to meeting all of the animals we have in Bedlington – and treating them all like one of our extended Vets4Pets family.
My name is Bia and I graduated as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2019. Originally from Portugal, I have been living in England since I graduated and in the last year settled in beautiful Northumberland.
I love all parts of being a Vet but I have a special interest in Internal Medicine. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, photography and learning to play the violin. Me and my partner rescued 3 very different pets over the years: Rio (15 year old labrador), Jasmin (middle aged cat) and Drogon (a young bearded dragon), but I am looking forward to helping and meeting all your 4-pawed friends at Vets4Pets Bedlington!Katie Logan
Veterinary Surgeon
It was always my dream as a little girl to become a veterinary nurse - and in 2013 i became a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
At work i have a keen interest in physiotherapy and how this can benefit your pets. I am currently undergoing further training in this area - watch this space! I also enjoy hand rearing abandoned kittens and finding them forever homes.
I have two rescue cats at home - Billy and Combo. I also have a horse called Brian.
In my spare time, i love to spend time with my family: my partner, my little girl and my little boy.
Rachel Cannell
Registered Veterinary Nurse
I have always had a passion for animals from a young age. Growing up i spent most of my time with my horse - competing in riding club show jumping and dressage. Whilst i have much less time now for competing - my horse 'Joey' is still my best friend.
My family includes 5 dogs and 2 cats, who have all been regular visitors at Vets4Pets over the years. I am so excited to have recently joined the team in 2022 and begin my Veterinary Nurse training.
Lisa Porter
Student Veterinary Nurse
I currently have 7 rescue dogs - and i will always make room for more. I enjoy meeting all of our wonderful clients and their animals.
I have always enjoyed working in the customer service industry, however i now have my dream job - i can combine my love for animals and meeting new people.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. We enjoy long walks on the beach and meals together as a family.
Katie joined the practice early 2023. She is a mum of two puppies, Bella the pug and her newest addition Darcie the cocker spaniel, who she fell in love with on her visit to the practice for her first injections.
In her spare time she loves to take her dogs on long walks, in a hope to tire young Darcie out. Katie loves cuddling the clients pets, don't be surprised if she steals yours for a hug.
I joined the team at Bedlington in september 2023, having been a customer for many years with both my cat and latterly my German Shepherd who has been visiting the surgery since he was a puppy.
I jumped at the chance to join the team, and be on the other side of the counter, and love meeting all our clients and their lovely pets.
Early 2024 Katie joined us in the practice as the newest Client Care Advisor as well as our office junior.
Katie is absolutely thrilled to be working amongst all of the fury friends. She totally adores all kinds of animals, especially puppies! Most of Katie’s free time is took up by her own fur baby Blossom who loves long adventures at the beach or the forest, not forgetting the occasional dog friendly staycation with her Pawrents.Vets4Pets Bedlington is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
