I qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 2000 and have been working in small animal practices in Ayrshire since then. I have been a partner at Vets4Pets Ayr since 2011 and have recently become a partner at Vets4pets Irvine. I aim to provide an excellent standard of veterinary care to our patients and look forward to meeting you. I enjoy all aspects of my work but have a particular interest in all types of surgery and rabbit medicine. Outside work I enjoy riding my horse Obi and relaxing at home with my dogs Blue a red collie, Beryl the merle collie, Harry the rescue cat and my ever expanding collection of chickens!

Hello my name is Christine, I have been at Vets4Pets Ayr since the early days, starting in 2013. I graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2009 and initially worked in a small animal practice in Yorkshire but always wanted to return home to Ayrshire.

I appreciate being in a practice where I recognise lots of patients and have known many of them since they were puppies or kittens. For me, getting to know pets and their owners is one of the best parts of the job. It’s a real privilege to be able to provide ongoing care for so many wonderful animals. I enjoy being a general practitioner and the variety that the job brings. I particularly like working with cats and caring for our more senior animals.

Out of work, I am kept busy with my 2 little boys. We are frequent visitors to the local parks and soft plays! I also have my 2 loyal cats, Harry and Jack, who have been with me since I worked in Leeds. They are typical vet pets as they had injuries requiring surgery when I rehomed them. They are extremely pampered boys and are quick to claim any cosy blankets or warm spots in the house.

Hi I’m Catherine, one of the vets at Vets4pets in both Ayr and Irvine. I’ve been with the team part-time since 2017; and this year I returned to veterinary practice full-time after 10 years as a Biology teacher at Wellington School. I love my job - it comes with a rollercoaster of emotions, but it is a real privilege to be with clients and their lovely pets through good times and bad. I volunteer with StreetVet in Glasgow - they are a lovely charity with a real heart for the homeless. Outside of work my absolute favourite thing is travelling. I worked for Christian Veterinary Mission in Haiti, Nepal and Uganda which I really loved. Nowadays family trips with my daughter Logan and son David often involve supporting their dad Alastair competing in Ironman races. Our demanding cat Purdey likes to keep us on our toes; and our lovely Labrador Inca is one of our willing blood donors ❀️

Hi I'm Laura, I'm one of the vets at Vets4Pets Ayr!

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in July 2022. I'm originally from South Ayrshire, however I've spent the last year working in Glasgow before deciding to make the move back to my home town.

At home I have a very naughty Jack Russell puppy called Buzz who was actually a graduation present. He is constantly getting himself into trouble and keeps me on my toes.

In my spare time I enjoy hill walking, running, going to the gym and enjoying the Scottish countryside with Buzz and my parents Jack Russell Chuck.

I am super grateful and excited to be able to work alongside an amazing team who helped to train me as a student and I am looking forward to meeting lots of our clients over the next few months.

Hi!

I’m Grace, and I’m one of the registered veterinary nurses. I’ve been qualified for four years, and completed my training here as a student, so will be an old face to many clients and pets.

I love the many roles my job provides, in particular caring for in-patients, and anaesthesia tasks. I’ve also taken on a new role this year where I help to coach student nurses with their training in the practice.

Outside of work I have the family dogs  - Kaiser and Nala, and ruling the roost of my house is my cat Luna, who thinks she is also a dog and will even play fetch!

I always look forward to each day at work as each day is so different, but mainly to see all your lovely pets! 🐱🐢🐰

I have been a nurse for 35 years now, worked originally in a single handed practice, mixed practice and finally a SA hospital in my hometown of Burnley, Lancashire.

I ran the nurse clinic inside the hospital for 20 years and finally made the long awaited move to Scotland 3 weeks ago hoping for a change of pace and lifestyle.

I have 2 grown up daughters, Mia 26 and Eve 21, an 8 year old Boston terrier called Betty and a teeny tiny 3 year old black cat called Creepy.

I love swimming, music and the adventure of outdoors. I play the piano and the drums and I have a couple of motorbikes to ride when the weather permits.

I was a dancer for 25 years but prefer to kick my heels up with friends and a glass of prosecco nowadays.

I am very much looking forward to the challenges of my new role at Vets 4 pets, and serving the people of my newly adopted town.

I started my nursing journey as a student in Ayr practice in 2019. I qualified in July 2022 from Edinburgh Napier University and remain part of the furniture. I enjoy all aspects of nursing, as no day is the same. However, I have taken an interest in surgical procedures. In 2023 I completed my Schedule 3 Course in Nursing. This means I am able to perform minor surgeries and suture patients.

At home, I have my Staffie Lucy. Lucy was re-homed in 2023 and loves her new family! When not with Lucy or at work, I enjoy spending time with friends and taking part in Young Farmers.

I qualified as a Vet Nurse in 2005 and have always worked in small animal. I've been nursing for over 20 years.  This year I have taken on the role of Admin Manager so I deal with the insurance claims as well as other administrative tasks required.
When I do nurse, I work better with cats purely due to back and knee pain.  They're smaller and easier to handle without hurting myself. At home I have one dog, Taco, and two cats, Tinkerballa and Tri-Pawed.

Hi I’m Laura.

I am the client services manager here at the Ayr branch. I started as a part time receptionist in 2012 and gradually increased my hours to full time. I did some animal care here in the practice but missed being out on the desk dealing with our amazing clients and their pets. I was then promoted to client services manager 4 years ago and absolutely love my role. I have an amazing team of girls to lead. I love that each day is different and to say it is challenging at times is an understatement but I love it and could never see myself doing anything else. I love all of our clients and adore their pets.

I also organise our charity events throughout the year. I absolutely love seeing everything come together and raising money for incredible charities. Our most recent event was in aid of Whiteleys Retreat which was one of our best events to date!.

At home I have a handsome 4 year old Lhasa-x called Chase (my nephew Brody named him). Chase thinks he is human! He is my world and he is a regular on our Facebook page due to his mischievous side.

Hello, I’m Susan. I started working here at Vets4Pets in June 2023. I absolutely love it and such a good team to be a part of.

This was me getting back to work after having my youngest daughter. I have 4 kids and a step son that range from 19 down to 2 and 1/2 so there is rarely a dull moment in our house.

It’s great getting to work with all sorts of animals and meeting new people all the time and building a relationship with clients and their pets.

We have two Border terriers, two cats and a bearded dragon at home, so we have our own miniature zoo in the house, but I would happily have 100 more. The dream is a small holding so we can give as many rescue animals home as we can. You never know, maybe one day.
