Meet the team
Having graduated from Nottingham Vet School in 2017, I started working in a busy small animal hospital in Cheshire. I joined the Vets4Pets Altrincham team April 2022.
I have a special interest in surgery and studying for the BSAVA Certificate and Advanced Practitioner status in the area. Most important to me is getting to know my patients, and, hopefully making their visits as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.
In my spare time I am usually being bossed around by my guinea pigs Livia and Julia, or, being taken for a walk by my beagle Lola.
I am Nieves, a vet from Madrid. I graduated in 2023 in the university of Leon, a lovely city in the north of Spain. During those years I learned about the veterinary medicine and I also spent some time working as an intern student with horses. When I graduated I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and continue learning as a veterinary surgeon in the UK. That is when I started working here in Vets For Pets Altrincham since last October. My favourites hobbies are to travel with friends or to spend time with my crazy and handsome dog Rocco, and even better If I can do both of those things at the same time!
I graduated from Liverpool in 2021. I decided that I wanted to become a vet when I was three years old and my ambition never wavered . I’ve loved animals my whole life and always want to do my best to help them live the best life possible.
I began my career in as a charity vet working for the RSPCA in Bolton. This work gave me a chance to learn about how to manage abandoned and neglected pets and help pets of owners in financial difficulties. I joined vets for pets in spring 2024 and I have loved every minute. I feel privileged to work with such a wonderful team of like minded individuals and the way we all work together to provide the best possible outcome for all our patients. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow as a veterinary professional within such a supportive environment and my aim is to always ensure every pet has the best possible care during their time with us.
Jo qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2013, having trained in multi disciplinary referral practice, working in the Orthopaedic & Emergency teams. In 2014 she moved to Altrincham Vets4Pets, since then she has coached 3 trainee nurses & recently completed a Certificate in Small Animal Nutrition.
I've worked with Vets For Pets Altrincham since September 2021. I have an interest in medical nursing, diabetes, weight loss, anaesthesia and analgesics.
I have three young children and a lovely black and white cat called Tash - because he has a moustache!
I have worked in Altrincham Vets for Pets since 2021 having previously worked in an emergency hospital for 7 years. Veterinary care is my love and passion and, as part of my job, I am really keen to help dogs’ and their owners’ journey with us as smooth as possible. I am proud to have led our achievement in earning our Dog friendly practice accreditation.
I have a beautiful Wirehaired Vizla cross called Lillibet and a cheeky cat called Magway at home.
Ella Barnacle
Student Veterinary Nurse
I have worked at vets for pets since July 2022 starting as veterinary care assistant. I have recently just started my nurse training which I really enjoying. At home I have a beautiful cat who I love to spoil! Looking forward to seeing you and your furry friends in consults.
I qualified as a Veterinary Care Assistant in 2022 and started working for Vets for Pets at the beginning of this year. I am passionate about caring for your animals and their welfare.
Having grown up with multiple pets in the family I have always loved animals. I started work here as a Client Care Advisor and had the opportunity to move onto a Veterinary Care Assistant and I am enjoying working more closely with the beautiful animals you bring to us.
I have worked in veterinary since 2008 and I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2011. My experience has been across both referral and first opinion practices and I have a special interest in small furies and exotics.
At home I have a zoo of rescue animals including parrots, doves, chickens, rabbits, a turtle and tropical fish tank.
Having been brought up on a farm in Lincolnshire and a keen horse rider I've always had involvement in animal care. My career in retail brought me to Manchester in 1997 where I have settled ever since. Working for Selfridges for 16 years gave me the valuable experience I have in Client care, team wellbeing and operational efficiency. Outside of work I run regularly with my two dogs, a Doberman Rosie and Boxer George. Movies and food are also up there on my list for down time.
Leanne Sands
Client Care Administrator
I have worked in the Veterinary Industry as a Client Care Advisor since September 2024. Having always had a love of animals, I decided to make a career change to pursue a role in this industry. I am aiming to work my way up through the industry to hopefully become an RVN through the help of Vets for Pets. The best part of my job is definitely seeing all the lovely animals that come to the practice, it makes the day al the more fun!
“I grew up in Manchester and had many pets as a child including dogs, cats and guinea pigs.
Over the last few years I’ve wanted to work with animals in a customer care role so I am very happy to be at Vets4Pets. I currently live with my young cat Gracie who loves to play fetch like a dog.”Kate Gorska

Having worked in administration for many years, this is my first role at a vets. I've learned so much while I have been here from an amazing team. Being a great animal lover it's wonderful to come to work to meet so many lovely pets and see how much their owners absolutely adore them.
