Meet the team
My name is Helen and I am the partner York Vets4Pets.
I graduated from Liverpool in 2004 having previously completed a degree in Animal Science at Leeds University. I initially worked in a mixed practice and then small animal only practice and I moved to the York area in 2013. I wanted to be a vet from the age of 9 and I am so excited to being able to run my own practice here in York. I will aim to provide the best possible level of client and patient care in our lovely new purpose built practice. We will offer continuity of care and we will always aim to work as a team with our clients to make the right decisions for their pets. My team and I will always answer any questions you may have as honestly as we can, so you can make informed choices about your pets care. We will strive to provide a friendly, value for money, professional service and treat each pet as if it were our own. We are all looking forward to meeting you and your pets. Outside of work my time is spent being a mum. I also love baking when I get the chance!
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College London in 2005. I've always worked with small animals (dogs/cats/rabbits/small furries) and have worked in every area of practice from traditional on-call, to running an emergency clinic, back to traditional practice before coming to York Vets4Pets.
I started working here as a locum, and liked it so much that when Helen asked if I wanted to stay permanently, saying 'yes' was an easy decision. I honestly enjoy every aspect of being a vet, but my favourite parts are emergency and critical care, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, and treating dental problems. I find it really satisfying taking a really sick pet and returning them home wagging (or purring or nose twitching!).
I am currently studying for a certificate in dermatology
Outside of work I am mum to a lovely eight-year old daughter, and we also have a spaniel, two hamsters, two fish and about fifty water snails that just keep reproducing! In the little time I have left I really enjoy fitness and writing fiction.
Hi, I’m Christine, one of the vets at Vets4Pets in York. I graduated from Cambridge University in 2017, and have been working at York since 2018. I’m currently working towards a diagnostic imaging certificate so I can provide even greater knowledge and skills when it comes to using ultrasound and x-rays to diagnose problems in your pet. In my free time, you’re likely to find me somewhere outside: hiking up a mountain, doing canicross with my Labrador Hazel, on the hockey pitch, or tending to the vegetable patch in my garden. When I’m not outside, I’ll be found singing with my A Capella choir in preparation for our next concert.
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2017 and have worked in small animal practice with cats, dogs and small furries ever since. I especially enjoy that everyday is different and have many interests including diagnostic imaging, medical cases and behaviour.
Outside of work I enjoy exploring York and the surrounding beautiful Yorkshire countryside having recently relocated here.
My name is Katie and I have been a part of the York Vets4Pets team, since we opened in March 2014. I have been involved in the veterinary industry for many years, first as a veterinary nurse and now as practice manager.
I began my ‘veterinary practice journey’ in 2000 when I began my studies at the Royal Veterinary College in London, qualifying three years later as a vet nurse and then gaining my degree in 2004. After that I worked as a vet nurse for another local practice for a number of years, before joining York Vets4Pets when we opened.
Over the years I have gained experience in all areas of the nursing role including medical and surgical nursing, anaesthesia and nurse clinics and I have also been involved in the training of student vet nurses. I became head nurse and then Practice Manager and am now mostly involved in the administrative aspects of the practice although I do occasionally get the opportunity to work with patients as well.
I enjoy all aspects of my job and feel privileged to be involved in the care and treatment of people’s pets and to look after our team of incredible colleagues.
My partner, son and I, share our home with 'Ecco', our crazy Border Collie, our beautiful tabby and white cat called 'Arrow’ and a very cute little hamster called 'Nugget'.
I joined the fantastic nursing team here at Vets4Pets in August 2021 having spent 9 years working in a mixed practice where I trained and qualified in 2017.
I really enjoy all aspects of nursing but I really enjoy canine and feline endocrine disorders.
I am passionate about delivering a great client service with honest and open communication, putting the owners and pets at the heart of everything we do.
At home I am a Mum to 2 Border Terriers one of which is a tripod ! and has Cushings disease and a rare form of diabetes. I also have a mischievous blue and gold Macaw. They all keep me very busy when I'm not at work.
I recently travelled to Africa to work at Welgevonden Game Reserve where I learnt a lot about conservation. This was a great opportunity and I also learnt a bit about tracking, which was so exciting!
At home I live with my partner Rob, Larry and my hamster, Paddington.
Hello, my name is Paige.
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2015, trained and worked in an exotic and small animal practice before solely locum nursing between 2022-2023 (you may have seen me occasionally during that time) and then travelling and working in Australia for a few months. I have now taken a full time position with the York Vets4Pets Team, I look forward to progressing my career here and caring for your pets however I can best.
I have a tabby named Sabre and in my spare time enjoy a variety of physical pursuits, listening to music and attending gigs, travelling and generally being out and about in nature.
Hi, I'm Caitlin and I'm very grateful to be a part of a fantastic team at Vets4Pets York as a RVN now I have completed my final year of nurse training. I thoroughly enjoy nursing all animals great and small during their time with us. In my spare time, I love riding my 3 horses and snuggling my 3 cats. I also volunteer as Bed&Breakfast foster home for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf during their training before going onto their matched recipients."
Hello, my names Lauren and I have recently changed role from a VCA to start training as a veterinary nurse ! I have always wanted to work with animals and I am hoping that as a student nurse I can be more hands on with your pets! I have had pets my whole life but at home I currently have a hamster called Mole and a cat called Tigger who I fell in love with when he was first brought into our practice as a stray earlier this year. I look forward to meeting you all!
Hi, I’m Georgia. I’m currently doing a vet nursing degree and training in practice in order to further my experience hands on. At home I have 3 dogs (Milo, Snoopy and Rocky) and 4 bearded dragons (Titch, Kiwi, Buster and Little foot); of which I’ve helped in looking after them as eggs through to adulthood. I have a huge passion for all types of animals, especially those in need of extra care. I’m chatty and bubbly and so I look forward to meeting all animals and their parents. I’ve travelled to Netherlands and South Africa to help animal conservation. My hobbies consist of travelling, listening to music and occasionally going to the gym.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets for this developing chapter of my life.
Hello! My names Lucy and I joined the Vets4Pets York team in April 2019 as a Client Care Advisor.
I’m a massive animal lover of all shapes and sizes, I’ve always wanted to be a vet nurse so I’m hoping to follow my dream.
In my spare time I play some games, walk my pooch Shadow and read. Shadow is a reactive dog and it can be challenging at times but he’s so worth it! He’s worth everything and he gives the best cuddles too.
I look forward to seeing you all come in with your pets.

My name is Faith. I have a cocker spaniel called Flora, and 2 milk frogs called Flump and Frida. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you soon !
