Advanced services
We have invested considerably in our team and kit to make a number of advanced services available to our clients. We also accept referrals from other practices.
Orthopaedics
Our veterinary team have undertaken advanced training to allow us to perform orthopaedic surgery in our practice. If your pet develops an abnormality involving their skeleton or joints, such as elbow dysplasia, a patella (kneecap) that gets stuck, or a torn cruciate ligament, an orthopaedic procedure may help them.
Ultrasound
We are pleased to be able to offer ultrasound scanning in practice, which is a painless way to look inside your pet’s body to find out what’s going on.

Laser therapy
Laser therapy is non-painful and involves directing infra-red radiation into inflamed or damaged tissues to accelerate the body’s natural healing process. It is often used for musculoskeletal issues such as arthritis, but the benefits of laser have been suggested for a range of conditions.

Dr Emily Forshaw BVM BVS BVMedSci MRCVS
I was fortunate enough to attend Nottingham Vet School and upon graduating in 2016 I spent two and a half years in a busy mixed animal hospital offering 24 hour emergency care. I then moved to Vets4Pets and completed their graduate scheme program. I am married with a family and in my spare time I love horse riding, cycling, walks with my family and dinner parties or summer BBQs with our friends. I also do regular voluntary work and fund raising for a local hedgehog charity.
I earned my qualification in Glasgow back in July 1989, which feels like a lifetime ago. It's truly remarkable that my passion for becoming a vet, a dream I had since primary school, has remained unwavering for nearly five decades.
I'm happily married to Neil and proudly embrace the role of being a stepmother to his two sons and three grandchildren. Our home is filled with the delightful presence of Umbra and Titian, our seven-year-old Maine Coon cats, as well as Morpheus, the elderly stray cat who's surprisingly good at getting attention from kids in the neighborhood. Our furry family also includes Bellatrix, a six-year-old cavapoochon, and Storm, our lively two-year-old flat-coated retriever. And let's not forget our clever school of around ten fish who keep us entertained and on our toes!
My name is Jenny and I am the Head Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) here at Preston Capitol Vets4Pets.
I began my journey when I secured a place at Myerscough College in 2013 to study a foundation degree course in Veterinary Nursing that I qualified from in July 2016. I continued on with my studies at Myerscough College in order to obtain a Bsc (Hons) degree and qualified from this in July 2018.
I have many duties within the clinic, one of which is being a clinical coach for student veterinary nurses (SVNs). I ensure that the students gain both practical and theoretical skills that will help them both in clinic and when carrying out their examinations at college.
I have a cross breed dog (Cavapoo) called Bobby and three rat called Dobby, Rodney and Rupert.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on long walks with my partner and baking."β
