Favourite animal and why?
Sorry can't really decide, love them all but if my life depended on it, probably cats.
What pets do you have and what are their names?
2 cats, Billie Whizz and Stompy (who was born blind) and 2 horses, Sam and Barmy Barnie.
What is the best pet's name you have ever come across?
A snake called "For Goodness".
What is your favourite famous animal?
On TV, the talking horse Mr. Ed (showing my age there), in real life, the showjumper Ftot du Chateau.
What is the best thing about working for Vets4Pets?
Being given support from a friendly large organisation but also given the freedom to do what we feel is best for the client and their pet.
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in July 2021 having studied there for 5 years. Vets for Pets Ilkeston is my first job as a newly graduated Veterinary Surgeon - I initially came to the practice on placement while studying and really enjoyed working as part of the amazing team - so much so I decided to stick around!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first few months out in practice and have gained invaluable medical and surgical experience during that time. I especially enjoy helping all the lovely pets that come through our doors and making sure they have a positive experience during their time with us.
In my spare time, I love watching football and relaxing in front of the TV. Whenever I get the time, I try and make it back home to Manchester, where I am from originally, to see my two beautiful dogs Alfie and Ava.
I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2022 and took a year to study a conservation degree at the University of Liverpool in between my veterinary degree where my research included work with rodents and Asiatic Lions. I have come back to the area to work after graduation as I grew up locally. I have previously worked in charity practice before coming to Ilkeston and continue to enjoy treating our domestic companions! In my spare time I foster cats for the RSPCA who keep me on my toes!"
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2024, having previously studied at the RVC and also worked at a charity practice in London before going back to vet school. I first came to Vets for Pets Ilkeston as a student, and I am now excited to be returning as a qualified vet! I enjoy all aspects of small animal companion work and the variety that comes with it. Outside of work I like football, hiking and going to the gym. At home, I have a loveable cat Ruby that keeps us company.
I qualified as a Veterinary nurse in 1998 at a mixed practice in Derbyshire. During the last 24 years, I have gained valuable experience from working in emergency out of hours, general practice and a large charity organization. I have been a Partner here at Vets for Pets from the very beginning of our journey 2015. I am proud of the practice we have become. I love meeting new clients and their furry friends.
I have a rabbit called Bunty and 3 guinea pigs Kenny, Ronnie & Tiny Tim.
Out of work I am married to Mark and have two children Adam and Katie. I like holidays, reading, cinema, and going out for meals.
I Started with Ilkeston Vets for Pets in 2019. This year i have progressed my career enrolling as a Student Veterinary Nurse. I can't wait to start my nursing career and be able to educate myself on giving our patients the best care.
At home i have a lovely rescue cat called Sushi and a budgie called Tiki, who pretty much rule the house!
In my spare time i enjoy visiting new places, shopping as well as being with family and friends.
I enjoy working at Ilkeston vets for pets as we are such a close knit team and have the loveliest clients and patients ( I suppose i'm bias ).
Miss Sarah Hind
RVN Veterinary physiotherapist
BSc(hons), FDSc, RVN, AdvcertVphysio. IRVAP
I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2014 and enjoy all aspects of nursing having gained experience working in both 1st opinion, emergency and referral practice.
In 2017 I followed my passion and qualified as an accredited veterinary physiotherapist which allows me to pursue my interest in animal rehabilitation and biometrics alongside my nursing.
Out of work I enjoy looking after and competing my horse Biscuit, and spending time with Mr D my working spaniel who was a rescue dog. As a family we have a small holding which means there is always something to do and no two days are ever the same.
I initially started my journey into becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse as a
Theatre Assistant within a large multidisciplinary referral hospital, where I then
went onto complete my training and qualified as an RVN. I gained a lot of
experience and knowledge working in all areas of a referral hospital, in
particularly, cardiology, neurology and inpatient care.
My current role at Ilkeston VetsforPets, I am able to utilise all my nursing skills
and work with a wonderful team. I have a passion for anaesthesia and take
pride in providing the best standard of care for all our patients.
Outside of work, I love to read, write, and spend time with friends and family,
but most of all entertaining my cat Lucifer who certainly lives up to his name.
My Name is Sarah Wilkinson and I have been a Client Care Advisor here at Ilkeston Vets4Pets since it opened in March 2015.
My husband and I share a home with two dogs named Gucci and Fudge. I have a son named Leo whom I enjoy spending my time, doing things that 5 year old boys enjoy such as theme parks, family days out and activities that involve getting dirty! Leo adores Gucci and Fudge, and they enjoy their walks with him.
In my spare time, I enjoy meals/drinks out, theatre and spa days with my friends.
I have worked in many different roles, but this is the 1st time working within a veterinary practice and I love it! I love meeting and spending time with all your lovely pets.
When Im not working i like spending time with my wonderful family and friends and of course my boyfriend Jordan. Most of all i love being with our silly but highly loveable pug Arthur.
This is my first time working at a Veterinary practice. I love meeting all your pets and getting to know them and you.
When I’m not at work I spend time with family and friends and my two guinea pigs Tango and Bueno who love getting up to mischief.
In my spare time, I love going for walks with my family, friends and my parents dog Tia.
I have been a client of Vets for Pets, Ilkeston for many years and I am very proud to work for this practise. This is my first role in a veterinary setting and I am looking forward to meeting all your pets!
