Dr Anthony Emley
Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
BVMedSci BVM BVS(Hons) MRCVS
I have always wanted to be a vet so when I was offered a place at Nottingham vet school I was overjoyed. This really prepared me for veterinary life as there was a strong focus on practical skills all the way through training. After graduating in 2011 I worked at a busy practice in Reading allowing me to develop as a vet quickly and find my passion in surgery. I then spent time as a locum around Oxfordshire and Berkshire gaining a lot more experience and skills.
After this I opened the practice here in Maidenhead and have never looked back. It gives me the ability to run the practice the way I want, strive for the best level of care and really have the time to get to know our clients and more importantly their pets! I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary but really have a love for all things surgical. I am currently studying for my advanced practitioner certificate in small animal surgery. Outside of work I enjoy all forms of sport and hold a black belt in Taekwon-do and am working towards another in Kickboxing. I have a feline bundle of cuteness called Neville and live with my girlfriend and spend alot of my free time decorating our first house.
At the practice we have an incredible team of vets, nurses and receptionists and I am so proud of how the practice has grown since we opened in 2015. I hope the passion we have for animals comes across to everyone we meet and we can't wait to meet you and help keep your hairy little family members happy and healthy!
Having studied Zoology at The University of Glasgow, I moved to Poland and qualified as a vet from Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2018. I initially worked in a 24hr animal hospital in Essex, but wanting to work closer to home I returned to the west and have joined a lovely, welcoming and knowledgeable team.
I enjoy all aspects of general practice but my main interests are ultrasonography, dentistry and soft tissue surgery. In the future, I look forward to getting more involved in veterinary charity work at home and abroad.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, wall climbing, making jewellery and cooking. I have a beautiful rescue cat called Tickles and Shubunkin goldfish. At some point, I’d also like to have a couple of goats but I don’t think that will be too soon in the future!
Hi I’m Sarah. I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015 which as Anthony knows gives you a great start to being a vet! I spent 1.5 years working in Surrey in small animal practice before I joined the Vets4Pets team in February 2017. I have a great many veterinary passions but my main drives are ultrasound imaging, behaviour work and medicine.
Outside of our practice I am involved in charity and community work; from dog walking at shelters, to animal care promotional events at schools. I always particularly look forward to judging the RSPCA Milbrook dog competitions at their annual gala day each summer.
At home I have one high energy rescue lurcher cross, one very lazy rescue moggie and one husband! In my spare moments if I’m not dog walking, I am often bouldering, hiking mountains and my tennis is gradually improving!
I have wanted to be a vet from the moment I started talking and have always maintained a huge passion for animal care. The team here are all wonderfully dedicated people and make each day a joy. I am very much looking forward to getting to know you and your animals!!
Evie joined us at the towards the beginning of the year after graduating from Surrey University.
My career started with two weeks work experience, when I was 16 years old, at a small animal surgery in Bedfordshire, from this I was offered an opportunity to train as a Veterinary Nurse. I qualified in 2003 gaining my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Veterinary nursing. I have been very fortunate in the past 17 years to have worked in various surgeries with some amazing vets and nurses. I have worked in both specialist hospitals, including the Royal Veterinary College and first opinion practice. At the RVC I was based in the neurology ward and rehabilitated dogs and cats recovering from brain and spinal procedures. This included physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. Since then I have spent a year 2013-2014 in Sydney Australia where I worked at referral hospitals as a specialist medicine nurse. I very much enjoy educating our clients on various subjects. I will be available for nurse clinics where I can share my knowledge.
Sam has been with us at Maidenhead Vets4Pets since 2022 as a Veterinary Nurse and is now our Deputy Head Nurse.
I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2018 from MYF training.
I have been working in practices in and around Reading since 2011 and have been at Maidenhead Vets4Pets for 2 years.
My main interests are inpatient care and analgesia, but do enjoy all aspects of nursing.
I live in Reading with my dog Gus, cat called Louie and tortoise DeeDee.
I have done various extra courses and learning dentistry and local analgesia. Hopefully I will be completing further advanced certificates in the future. In my spare time, I train my dog in search and rescue (mantrailing) which is rewarding.
Working with animals has always been a passion of mine, and I have pursued this through education at Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) where I gained a level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management. I built on the skills I had learnt then went on to complete a Foundation Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the college. While studying for my Degree I gained employment at the college where I worked with a range of Zoo and British wildlife animals, allowing me to gain knowledge and experience.
I am very lucky to be working with a great team who are dedicated to looking after animal’s health and welfare. I have been working at the practice since April 2016, initially on reception but have now started my training to become at Vet nurse..
In my spare time I like to go on long walks, watch movies and play with my cheeky kitten Kate.
Hi, I’m Louise. I recently started at Vet4Pets in January 2023. I am very passionate about improving animal welfare and enjoy caring for all the different species, breeds and personalities that come in.
I first started working with animals when I was 14 at an animal shelter. After this it was clear I wanted to pursue a career with animals and decided to complete a level 3 extended diploma in Animal Management.
I live at home with my family including my cat, Kitkat. My other interests include music, travelling and spending time with my friends.
Amy has recently joined us at Vets4Pets Maidenhead as a Animal Care Assistant.
I have worked at Vets4Pets in Maidenhead since October 2021 as a receptionist. I then took over as head receptionist from Sam, so she could start as a student veterinary nurse.
At home I have two Springer Spaniels, Toby and Harry, who keep me very busy! We rescued a Shetland pony called Tiny, who we had for over 40 years! I have always grown up with animals, and as a child we had numerous Pygmy goats, chickens, ducks and geese to name just a few!
In the future I would love to have my own smallholding and raise goats again, as well as a few Shetland Ponies and dogs.
After having been a receptionist for many years for a building services company, I moved into the retail sector four years ago. I saw the position of veterinary receptionist as a chance to combine my reception and customer service skills and haven’t regretted it for one minute.
I am very lucky to work with such a happy and dedicated team and even though I joined later they have made me feel very welcome and I already feel part of the Vets4Pets family.
In my spare time I enjoy looking after my 5 grandchildren and my holidays to Devon with my partner Terry.
