Meet the team
Dr Cormac Higgins
Joint Venture Partner and Veterinary Surgeon
MVB MRCVS GP(Cert)Endo
From Longford in Ireland, I qualified at University College Dublin. Moving to England, I opened the Companion Care Surgery in Ashford in 2007. My particular interest is internal medicine.
I have a general practitioner certificate in endoscopy, which allows me to perform minimally invasive procedures to remove items such as stones that would otherwise require major surgical operations and longer recovery times for our patients. I can also perform laparoscopic (Key-hole) procedures such as spays for suitable patients.
I have a naughty little schnauzer crossed border terrier named Raya, a whippet called Echo and a spaniel whippet cross called Ahsoka or "Snips" for short, who all regularly come to work and keep us all busy with their cheeky antics.
I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Kosice in 2017, joining the Folkestone team straight from school. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and while things are very different, I love every minute.
My particular interests lie in soft tissue surgery/orthopaedics, and I aspire to obtain my qualifications in the coming years.
Hi! I studied at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest. I am originally from Malta.
I grew up with all kinds of animals, from cats and dogs to a pet goose named Gusu. I love nature and the countryside, so you'll find me hiking or relaxing in my free time!
I also enjoy taking part in my local Musicals Choir.
Dr Vedika Dass
Veterinary Surgeon
BVM&S AFHEA BSc(Hons) MRCVS
I started working in practice in 2003 and qualified as a nurse in 2006. I worked in various small animal practices, including a referral hospital before joining Folkestone in 2015 as Head Nurse.
My role is varied with a mixture of clinical nursing and some admin tasks to ensure the practice runs smoothly.
I have completed a Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management and I am also a clinical coach for our student nurses undertaking their training.
Outside of work I am kept busy by my cheeky rescue dog Nacho and my 2 family dogs Ernie and Saffy. I am also a season ticket holder at Westham with my partner and football is massive in our house!
I have loved animals all my life & been involved with vet nursing since 2011, joining Companion Care Vets in 2015. My particular interest is neo-natal care.
I have a few animals of my own including three miniature ponies, a gorgeous Great Dane, two sphynx cats called Freddy and Kruger and some fish.
My spare time is spent horse riding & spending time with my family and animals.
I started working in practice in 2002 and qualified in 2005. I have worked with small animals, exotics, and larger species (including zoo animals). I enjoy all aspects of my job, particularly anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging and nursing medical cases. I have trained veterinary nurse students and lectured at a local veterinary nursing college. I am currently undertaking a certificate in anaesthesia.
I returned to work in February 2017, joining Companion Care after maternity leave, and spend my free time looking after my daughter Ava (and my husband!), walking my dog Stanley & riding/competing my Horse Gio.
I have been working in practice since 2004 and qualified from Hadlow College in 2010. I joined the Companion Care team in October 2018. I love all aspects of my job but I have a particular interest in Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy in which I am working towards gaining an N-CERT
At home, I have a working Cocker Spaniel named Seth, Sprocker named Zack, and two horses called Louis and Blue.
In my spare time, I enjoy riding/competing with Blue, agility training with Seth and Zack and of course, socializing with family and friends.
I joined the team in March 2018. From a young age, I have always been passionate about working with animals. I completed my nurse training and qualified as an RVN in 2022.
I love wound management and nursing surgical cases. I have completed a schedule 3 surgical proceduress course which has helped widen my knowledge.
My interests are reading and anything Disney.
I began my career in veterinary nursing in 2018 working with different small animal, exotic, and wildlife practices before settling into Vets for Pets in march 2021, where I completed my training and received my qualification from KSVN in early 2023. I love all aspects of my job but I have a particular interest in anaesthesia and emergency care.
My hoard currently consists of cats; sully, Boo, Noodles, Loki (yes, he lives up to his name), and the most recent addition Mojo the Sprocker.
In my spare time you’ll find me out adventuring with the dog or cuddled up with the cats binge watching TV.
I joined the Practice in November 2022 as a Veterinary Care Assistant and in September 2024 I started my nurse training with the Kent School of Veterinary Nursing.
I am looking forward to meeting your fluffy family members! And I promise I will give them plenty of cuddles!
I joined the team in December 2022 as a Veterinary Care Assistant and in September 2024 I started my nurse training with the Kent School of Veterinary Nursing.
I have a strong love for animals, particularly cats, and I am committed to providing the highest level of care for all of our patients!
I have been working with animals since I was around 18. When I first stepped into the Veterinary Environment to do my school work experience, I then continued to go to college for animal care and volunteering at rescue centers... Until I found myself here!
In my free time, I like to spend time cuddling my rats and spoiling them with treats- I also love painting!
My passion for animal care has taken me far and wide; having provided critical services in shelters and animal hospitals across South East Asia, India, and Australia. On my return, I then qualified in Level 2 Canine Care and Welfare and now continue to build on my skills as a Veterinary Care Assistant in Folkestone, ultimately working towards becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse
Debbie joined the team in March 2019.
Growing up, Debbie's family always had German Shepherds but now, she has a beautiful Maltese called Dolly.
I have been part of the team at Vets Folkestone since December 2021.
As a lover of animals, I have two Cats, Maggie and Joe, and a Bearded Dragon, Norbit.
I joined the team here at Folkestone in August 2024. I love meeting and greeting the clients and their pets for their appointments.
Outside of work I can usually be found baking treats for my family and friends.
Vets for Pets Folkestone is committed to providing affordable, high-quality care via a modern, well-equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital X-ray, and ultrasound. Plus, there is on-site car parking, too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
