Meet the team
Dr Dan Makin
Practice Owner/Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVS
Originally from Northern Ireland, I graduated from RVC, London in 2014. After an amazing 8 months travelling around South East Asia and working in shelter medicine, I moved to Devon and worked in a busy, small animal hospital in Dartmoor for 5 and a half years. Now in Bournemouth, I joined the fabulous Poole Vets4Pets team in Feb 2021. I love the variety of cases I see as a GP vet, and particularly enjoy soft tissue surgery. I'm an advocate for improving mental health in the veterinary profession and also proud to be a StreetVet volunteer. I have a Staffie-cross rescue from Margaret Green called Tilly, who rules my life! I also love playing sport and exploring the Dorset coast.
I started at Vets4Pets in the summer of 2020 after qualifying from the University of Nottingham. I am originally from Winchester so am enjoying being close to the beach! It is very rewarding working as part of such a great team and getting to know our lovely clients and their pets. I have no pets of my own currently, but I hope that will change in the not-too-distant future.
Dr Felicity Atkinson
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVS
I began working in veterinary practice in 2002, and I qualified and registered as a Veterinary Nurse in 2008. I started working at Vets4Pets in 2014. I enjoy all aspects of nursing, but have particular interest in surgical, medical and critical care nursing. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, and am kept very busy looking after my two children. I have a cat called Harry, who is notorious amongst my colleagues for being quite a feisty character!
I have been nursing since 2012 alongside a lovely team of colleagues, and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in July 2017. I have a keen interest in medical nursing and emergency and critical care. Both give me one on one time with patients and enable me to get to know more about the patient’s personalities and personal quirks whilst in the hospital with us. I love being able to provide care to patients enabling me to observe their personal improvements overtime.
I joined Vets4Pets in June 2017 after volunteering for 2 years in the veterinary industry as I decided to pursue a career in veterinary nursing. In August 2017 I became a qualified Animal Nursing Assistant after studying for a year at the Lynwood School of Veterinary Nursing. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my 3 dogs at the beach and wildlife photography.
I joined Vets4Pets in February 2019, having worked as an animal care assistant in out-of-hours practices for 3 years. I love all aspects of nursing but particularly enjoy taking care of inpatients. Outside of work I enjoy horse-riding and taking care of my very loud Indian Ringneck parrot Riley.

I am the Practice Manager and have worked here since 2014. I started as an Animal Care Assistant and love being in a practice surrounded by such a great team and an environment where every day is different. I previously graduated with a degree in Psychology and have completed a Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification specifically relating to the veterinary industry. I have a beautiful Ragdoll cat called Margot who is very spoilt!
I have worked at this practice since 2008 and I qualified as a veterinary nurse in
2012. I now work mainly on reception which I thoroughly enjoy as I get to meet all of
our clients and their pets. I have my own little dog Alfie, who is now 8 years old.
I joined the Vets4Pets team in March 2019, having worked in administration for over 20 years. Since then I have loved meeting everyone’s pets and getting to know our clients, as well as being able to be involved in all aspects of the veterinary field. Outside of work I enjoy baking and walks with my son Oliver. Being part of such a friendly & supportive team is rewarding and I look forward to welcoming you to the practice in the near future
I joined the Vets4Pets team in November 2019, I previously had my own cleaning business for 11 years. Since starting work at Vets4Pets I have really enjoyed meeting our clients and their pets. I have a family dog called Teddy, he is a very loveable and cuddly Toy Cockapoo.
