Meet the team
Dr Roger Irish
Veterinary Surgeon and Practice Owner
BSc(Hons)Pharm MVB MRCVS
I qualified as a Vet from UCD in Dublin in 2009, and spent two and a half years working in mixed practice in Ireland. My wife is from London, so we moved back in 2012 and I have been working in small animal practice ever since. I am currently undertaking a post graduate certificate in small animal medicine. I enjoy all aspects of being a vet, both medical and surgical. I grew up on a family farm, surrounded by animals. Despite originally becoming a Pharmacist and working in that profession for several years, I always knew that veterinary medicine was where my heart was, therefore it was back to university for me. I am now very fortunate to do a job that I love. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two daughters, and our Norlfolk terrier, Pip. I am also a keen sportsperson, although sadly my playing days are just about finished. I guess it comes to us all!
After qualifying from Glasgow Vet School in 2006, I worked in a mixed practice in Warwickshire for 4 years. I then spent a year training veterinary technical team around the world including visits across Europe, Asia and North America. I moved to London in 2013 and worked as a floating vet covering many practices across South West London which gave me great experience in treating many different cases.
I live in Wandsworth with my wife Lou and our son Teddy. I enjoy playing cricket, watching (no longer playing!) rugby and can often be found with a saw or drill in my hand doing some DIY at home or for a friend!
Hi I am Gia, one of the part time veterinary surgeons here in Friern Barnet. I graduated in 2018 from the University of USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania. I have a master degree in small animal transfusion therapy. I came to England through a scholarship and was amazed by the high standard and quality of veterinary care animals receive here in the UK, plus I fell in love with an Englishman so I decided to stay. I am currently undertaking a postgraduate certificate in small animal cardiology but I love all aspects of being a vet. I have a mixed background, Romanian-Greek, I am lucky to be shaped by both cultures, lucky to have worked in the veterinary industry in both countries. I still engage with charity animal work back in Europe and hope I can influence animal health care and sustainability in the long run. I love traveling and discovering new cultures. In my free time I enjoy art and music, I was a ballerina before committing to the veterinary profession. You will probably find me in a museum, at a musical or just daydreaming reading books.
Hi, I’m Rani! I’m one of the newer faces at Vets 4 Pets Friern Barnet. I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2023 and started working here in January 2024. I grew up in upstate New York with my parents and twin brother and we spent a lot of time exploring the outdoors and traveling as a family. I worked many jobs before vet school – retail, restaurants, teaching, research, etc. – but my dream came true when I got my first job at a veterinary clinic in high school. I’ve known since I was 7 that being a vet is what I was meant to do. After completing my undergraduate degree in New York, I popped over the ocean to start veterinary school in London.
I now live in North London with my husband and our two dopey cats, Kelso and Peach. When I’m not working, you can find me bopping around the city with friends, taking a nap, or somewhere in between. It has been such a pleasure getting to know the clients and pets at Vets for Pets Friern Barnet, and I look forward to meeting even more of you!
I am a registered veterinary nurse. I have been in practice for 15 years.
Previously I worked as a temporary nurse all over London in both first option and referral. I decided to go permanent here as a head nurse in July 2022 as there was a lot of changes going on for the better that I wanted to be a part of.
I love all aspects of nursing. But I have special interest exotic animals and achieved a certificate in exotics. Here are Friern Barnet we only see small mammals so I ensure they they get the best care.
I have one cat, Maggot I hand reared when she was found as a kitten.
When I’m not at work i am usually off travelling.
I’m a student veterinary nurse in my 2nd year of studies. I joined the Friern Barnet team in October 2022 but have worked in the industry since 2019. I previously worked in human healthcare but am a lot happier caring for furry patients.
Balancing both studies and work is hard but I enjoy learning and being able to implement my studies into giving the best standard of care to my patients.
I am especially interested in small furries and exotics. I sadly have no pets of my own so always enjoy giving our patients extra cuddles and love during their stay.
I'm Holly a Student Veterinary Nurse, in my third year of studies at the Royal Veterinary College on the BSc Vet Nursing degree program and expect to graduate in the summer of 2025. I have been working in the Veterinary industry since 2019. Originally from the Cotswolds, I packed up and relocated to London in 2022 to pursue my career. At work, I’ll be delighted to meet you and your furry friends during my nurse consultations or during admission and discharge appointments, if your pet stays with us for the day. I love to study and learn new things, and I adore every element of nursing here at Friern Barnet! I love all animals, no matter how big or small, but I have a special place in my heart for exotic species—furry, scaly, or even feathery! In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, spending time in nature and nurturing my beloved pets, Olive and Lottie the dogs, Rosie the cat, and Topher the Dwarf Hamster.
I am the Veterniary Care Assistant & you may see me on reception from time to time.
I joined the Friern Barnet team in July 2022 before then I worked night shifts in a supermarket.
I insipre to be a Veterniary Nurse one day. I enjoy taking care of the animals on a daily basis.
I've wanted to be a veterniary nurse for as long as I can remember. I've always loved animals and wanted to turn a passion into a career.
I really enjoy watching our nurses do thier job- they all make me want to be like them! I cant wait to continue my journey and start my studies to be a veterniary nurse.
At home, I have 2 dogs; Mona & Remy and 1 cat; Moon- who I absolutely love.
Hi I'm Petra, I am the practice manager here at Friern Barnet. I joined the team in 2015 as a receptionist. In 2017, I became Practice Coordinator and 2 years after that I became Practice Manager. You will see me on reception from time to time to help you with your fur babies. I am passionate about animals and like to make a difference in their life.
I have a 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is my absolute world! His name is Lenny and I would do anything for that gorgeous boy :O) In my spare time I like to spend time in my garden tending to my veggie plants and flowers. I also love to travel the world and spend time with my friends and family.
I’m Paige, you will see me when you come In for your appointment but sorry if I get distracted and make a fuss of your pet before signing you in! I have a big love for animals, my friends and family call me doctor do little but now I think about it maybe it’s because I like to do little?
I spent most of my teenage and adult life trying to figure about what I wanted to do, going from working on makeup counters, to taking bets at a betting shop and then designing kitchens. But one thing I always knew is i loved animals and now I finally have my dream job. One day I hope to be a nurse but for now I’ll be here with my bag of treats.
I have background in customer service and management and my previous work experiences have provided me with the foundation on which to build new experiences in the field of animal care as a veterinary receptionist. I have been with Vets4Pets since October 2021. I have been always lover of animals, having grown up with with various pets like hamsters, fish, budgies, two little crocodiles and in my teens I have brought home every stray cat I found. Unfortunately I have to raise them to good health and than found new home for them.
My passion are dogs and everything about them, from welfare, training and behaviour all the way to nutrition. I hold Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) and I am currently working towards achieving modern dog training course diploma with Guild of Dog Trainers and diploma in canine nutrition.
I have found my work here be very rewarding and enjoy the challenges it brings. No two days are ever the same at reception, but one thing’s for sure, I love meeting our clients and helping them in any way I can and there’s always plenty of pets to meet and greet. I am proud to be part of the dedicated compassionate team at Vets4Pets.
Outside of work I enjoy gardening, good book, baking , good company and have very soft spot for miniature bullterrier with big heart and big personality named Hannibal. Also I am passionate about wildlife , nature and environment and trying to live my life as ecologically as possible.
Hi, my name is Justine and I am one of the receptionist at vets4pets, and will be happy to welcome you to our friendly animal loving practise.
I started here in January 2024, and I am absolutely loving it, seeing all the animals daily, and watching the vets and nurses doing what they do best, is an inspiration to everyone.
I am a mum to 5 fabulous children, 4 beautiful fur ball cats, and my precious ginger nutter, Eszther, my vizsla, which I adore, with all my heart.
I used to work in the care industry, which I loved, but felt I needed to take a different direction, and my love for animals is what directed me to vets4pets.
When I get any free time in my days, I love nothing more than gardening, going for meals, and taking a stroll along one of England beautiful beaches.
Vets4Pets Friern Barnet is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
