Meet the team
Hi i'm Jo, I started working at Vets4Pets Leeds Kirkstall in April 2022.
I've been a Veterinary Surgeon for 12 years after qualifying from the University of Nottingham. I'm currently studying towards my Advanced Practitioner status in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
Outside of work you can normally find me tending to my allotment or foraging. I also love to do Yoga and play the piano.
I look forward to seeing you and your animals when you come into practice.
Andreea joined us at Leeds Kirkstall Vets4Pets in 2022, having trained and graduated in Romania before moving to the UK to practice. Andreea has an interest in internal medicine and in particular, all things feline. Andreea is a strong advocate in providing a 'fear free' experience for pets during visits to us and one day hopes the practice can expand to included cat-only clinics. At home, Andreea has a poodle called Bella and a cat, Sisi. In her spare time, Andreea can be found reading, knitting and swimming.
I head up the nursing team here at Kirkstall Vets4Pets. I started my training in 2016 at an independent practice at the age of 16 and attended The College of Animal Welfare for 2 years, qualifying and Registering as a Veterinary Nurse in 2018. I have love every moment in practice from the variety of clinical cases, array of lovely patients and the emotional rollercoaster that this career brings. It certainly provides a fantastic feeling of job satisfaction.
Outside of work; I enjoy walking, cycling and working out. But i mostly enjoy watching movies with my partner whilst indulging in a big fat takeaway and cuddling my 3 cats, Tinky, my 9 year old mischievous boy. Smokey my 19 year old, 3 legged rescue and my newest edition, Spudnick my 1 year old Ginger.
I joined Kirkstall vets4pets in November 2023 and am loving working with the team and meeting all your furry friends!
Kathryn joined the Kirkstall team in 2023 and is already part of our family. An accomplished RVN with years of experience across all aspects of veterinary nursing practice, Kathryn can be found running nurse clinics, keeping the ops schedule moving by making sure all medications are drawn up ready for administration and taking x-rays. Kathryn has recently taken up crocheting and also loves to bake.
Jamie joined Vets4Pets in 2016 and moved to Kirkstall in 2022. Originally trained in Canine Behaviour, Jamie has a keen interest in behaviour and is firm asset to our team. Jamie's niche is medical nursing, caring for in-patients and providing preventative healthcare through our nurse consultations. Jamie has two miniature dachshunds, Pippa and Nancy and loves taking them for long country walks with her young daughter.
Ella has been with us here since 2022 and is on the degree route, studying for a Bachelors degree in Veterinary Nursing. Due to graduate this summer, Ella is returning to full-time education in the autumn as she has been accepted onto the course to study to be a vet with Nottingham vet school. We are so proud of this achievement and it's a testament to the dedication and drive Ella has to pursue her long term goal of practicing as a vet.
In practice, Ella loves to be in theatre working as a surgical nurse. At home, Coco the cockapoo keeps her company and in her spare time, Ella is out with family and friends or planning her next travelling escapade.
Charlotte joined the practice in 2023 and is training to be a Veterinary Nurse, attending college alongside her work in practice. Originally, Charlotte started her career in Pharmacy and while she enjoyed this, the desire to work with animals was too strong and here she is. Charlotte has plans to get a Golden Retriever but in the meantime looks forward to getting to know all the pets who come to the practice, especially pups and kittens. In her spare time, Charlotte loves to travel, get outdoors for long walks and art.
Having completed an Introduction to Animal Nursing and Welfare at Askham Bryan college in York, Lauren joined us in 2023 as a Veterinary Care Assistant. In spring of 2024, she started training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse and for the next few years will be juggling college time and assignments, with time in practice.
Lauren particularly enjoys working with rabbits and has three house-trained rabbits at home, Sweep, Clover and Buzby. Having seen the vets care for and help her own pets, In her spare time Lauren spends time with her friends and makes sure her rabbits get the VIP treatment from her.
Aaliyah joins us on her sandwich year from university where she is on a 3 year degree course, training to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse. During her time with us, Aaliyah will learn and practice all the 'day-one' practical skills to enable her to qualify and practice at the end of her placement with us (and latterly, at the end of her degree program at York).
Heather joined Vets4Pets in 2012 and most recently is based at Vets4Pets Leeds Kirkstall as Practice Manager, joining the team here in July 2023. Originally training as a veterinary nurse, Heather has also spent time in a variety of pet related roles, including Canine Hydrotherapist, Emergency and Critical Care nurse in a 24/7 Veterinary Hospital and also as a Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing in a further and higher education setting.
At home, Heather has three cats (Thomas, Martin Meowski and Colin), as well as two dogs, an English Pointer called Lottie Popinski and a Bulgarian street dog called Ivy Bear. Any spare time is spent out and about with the dogs, pampering the cats and trying to lint roll all the hair off of clothing, furniture and visitors to the house.
Welcome to the practice and thank you for trusting your pets into our care.
Lynsey joined the Kirkstall team in 2023 and quickly proved herself to be invaluable to the team. Bringing with her a wealth of customer service experience, Lynsey heads up the customer facing team and also squirrels away behind the scenes for all things pet insurance, credit and debt.
Lynsey finds being able to help a client and their pet most rewarding and leaves work every day feeling like she has made a difference. A self-confessed pet-mum, you'll find cats Lizzie, Luna, Lola, Lottie, Toffee, Tiny and Timmy competing for space on her lap at home. In down-time Lynsey is into films and documentaries, as well as catching up with friends.
Dechlan joined us in 2024. Born and raised on a farm, Dechlan comes with a strong background in client care having worked in the NHS and hospitality. While his favourite animal is the squirrel monkey, he's more at home in Yorkshire with the sheep and chickens.
On a more domestic note, Dechlan loves nothing more than to tend to his cats Munchkin and Zen, although he is rather partial to all the pets we look after here at Leeds Kirkstall Vets4Pets (dogs, cats and the occasional pigeon included). Turning his passion into a career, watch this space - today reception.... tomorrow, who knows?!
In his spare time, he enjoys running, football and songwriting / singing. Never a dull moment, make sure you say hello when you're next in.
Hi, I’m Rebecca. I am a Client Care Advisor at Vets4Pets Leeds Kirkstall. I have always worked in a customer service background but decided I wanted to focus my love for animals into my career. Outside of work I am often found running around after my wonderful children and looking after Violet my cat. I like to travel in my spare time and watch movies and go walking with the family.
Hi, my name is Claire and I started as a Client Care Advisor at Vets4Pets Leeds Kirkstall in 2022. I've always had a love for animals and wanted to turn my passion into my career.
Outside of work you will often find me looking after my 2 children along with my Pomeranian called Coco and Bengal cat called Taz. When I get a little me time I can be found wandering around the countryside on horseback.
I look forward to meeting you when you come into practice.
Abby is joining us straight from school and is with us part-time while she continues in her formal education - in the long run, Abby see's herself as a writer or journalist. Abby loves all animals but cats are top in her household where she shares sofa space with 8 (yes 8!) feline friends. In her spare time, Abby loves time at the beach and time catching up on her favourite TV shows.
