Advanced services

We have invested considerably in our team and kit to make a number of advanced services available to our clients. We also accept referrals from other practices.

Orthopaedics and fracture repair

Our veterinary team have undertaken advanced training to allow us to perform orthopaedic surgery in our practice. If your pet develops an abnormality involving their skeleton or joints, such as elbow dysplasia, a patella (kneecap) that gets stuck, or a torn cruciate ligament, an orthopaedic procedure may help them.

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2013 having completed my veterinary degree. I completed my first degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare. My main area of veterinary interest lies in exotic animal medicine, including reptiles, birds, rabbits and small mammals. I have undertaken exotics training courses and placements in Australia, Czech Republic and America. I completed my post graduate certificate in Exotic Animal Medicine in 2015. I also have a particular interest in surgery. I like walking, travelling and going to the cinema. I have two cats, two corn snakes, three poison dart frogs and three ducks.

From Longford in Ireland, I qualified at University College Dublin. Moving to England I opened the Companion Care Surgery in Ashford in 2007. My particular interest is internal medicine. I have a rescue cat from Gibraltar called Bambino who very much makes himself at home whenever he visits the surgery, and a naughty little schnauzer crossed border terrier named Raya who comes to work every day and keeps us all busy with her cheeky antics.

I graduated in 2005 as veterinary surgeon. For 4 years I worked as a farm vet in several countries across Europe. In 2009 I moved to the USA where I joined a team in a first opinion clinic for companion animals. I certified as an MRCVS in 2016. Since 2017 I have lived and worked in the UK. I joined the V4P Dover team in 2020. I have a big family of 3 kids, 4 cats (currently), a bearded dragon, a hedgehog, and 2 racing pigeons. I am quite passionate about my work, football and coffee. In my limited spare time I like to read and explore the history of Ocean steam liner RMS Titanic and the fascinating stories of the crew members and the passengers. I am a great fan of the band Queen, Freddie’s unique vocals and Brian’s guitar solos.

Originally from Dover, I spent a lot of my time before university working on a local farm, and I still have a keen interest in farming and the countryside. I studied at the University of Surrey and decided to return home for work. I joined Vets4Pets in 2020 and have a particular interest in surgery, especially soft tissue. I’m currently studying for a certificate in small animal surgery which will allow us as a practice to offer more advanced surgery. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends, especially cooking and enjoying good food and drink. You might even catch me on the roads around Dover training for my next marathon!

I am Wendy Cheung, or Mun Wai Cheung, if you were up for a challenge to pronounce my Chinese name. I was born in Singapore and raised in Hong Kong. I then moved to UK in 2016 to attend veterinary school in University of Glasgow. After graduating in 2021, I moved to the Kent area to start my career as a small animal veterinarian and to chase after some sunshine in South England. I have been enjoying Kent and having the pleasure to serve the animals around the area. My interest is small animal internal medicine, I also enjoy seeing some exotic animals, including small mammals and reptiles. In my free time, I like to discover Asian Cuisines around the area to comfort my home sickness and go for outdoor activities during summer times to make up the sunshine I missed back in Scotland.

Hi, I’m Megan! Since the age of 5 I knew I wanted to become a vet. After spending 5 years training at the Royal Veterinary College in London, I moved back to my hometown Dover and in 2022 began my career at vets4pets. At the moment I am loving every part of the job and trying to decide what specific aspect I’d like to do a certificate in.

In my spare time I enjoy going on walks with my family dog Loki and I have recently started learning aerial silks.

Hi, I’m Sam and I joined Vets4Pets Dover Whitfield in October 2018, and became Head Nurse in October 2021. I started my veterinary nursing career back in 2008 in a small animal practice. I’ve expanded my veterinary experience working in a mixed practice with farm animals and horses, and then in a charitable veterinary practice. I am now thoroughly enjoying the small animal and exotics cared for here in Dover with such a great friendly team. In my free time, I love to continue expanding my knowledge in the veterinary field (especially anaesthetics and feline medicine) and I love a good crime and mystery novel, and a good walk in the countryside.

Outside of work you may find me in Dover harbour on my paddle board or doing ballet and tap dancing.

I started in the veterinary industry in 2019 when I started working as a Veterinary Care Assistant. I completed my Veterinary Nurse training at the end of 2023 and love the challenges this job brings. I love to travel having previously worked for British Airways as an air hostess. At home I have six dogs who I love to take for adventures, a rescue cat named Ray.

Since joining the practice in October 2021 I have learnt so much and am hoping to begin veterinary nurse training next year. I have always had an interest in animals, having previously studied Primate Conservation MSc, and have enjoyed my time volunteering at local zoos and a rehabilitation centre in South Africa. I have a particular interest in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation. In my free time I like to take our staffie Ruby on long walks, and love to travel whenever I can.

I have worked with the practice since Feb 2021 as a CCA. I always wanted to work with or around animals. I thoroughly enjoy seeing all the pets coming and going through out the practice and particularly enjoy when I see them feel a lot better! I have a family of fish that I look after at home which includes Tetras, Mollies and Zebra Loaches. I am hoping to expand my little family with a cat sometime soon!
