Meet the team
I started as a school leaver helping out in a veterinary practice close to home in Northumberland in 1993. I went on to complete my nursing training and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 1998. 5 years later I joined the Vets4Pets Group becoming the groups first veterinary nurse partner. After over 20 years as a Practice Partner my role has moved from full time nursing to a more practice management dominated role overseeing both the practices in Sunderland. Although I do like to keep my hand in with nursing especially assisting the vet team with dental cases. My working week is split between Sunderland Vets4Pets and our sister practice Sunderland South Vets4Pets, where I am also the practice owner, as well as working remotely.
After qualifying from Liverpool University in 2015 I joined Sunderland Vets4Pets as a new-graduate Vet. In 2016 I moved to Anglesey, North Wales where I lived with my husband and our Great Dane Nelson for a year before moving back to the North East.
I love working at the Sunderland & Sunderland South Vets4Pets practices. Despite the challenges we sometimes face, we are rewarded every day by the fab clients and pets we have the pleasure to look after.
My interests are dermatology and exotics, and outside of work I enjoy long walks with my family and our dogs. My favourite animal is the beautiful Black Rhino.
I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the university of Edinburgh in 2018 but I am a local girl from Sunderland. i had spent several weeks doing work experience with Sunderland Vets4pets where i became very fond of the practice and the team and was thrilled to be offered a job as a new graduate vet. I love performing surgery but also have an interest in medicine so general practice is a great balance for me. i like to spend most of my spare time is spent walking with my dog, Fergus.
I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Bristol University in 2020 and joined Vets4Pets Sunderland as a new graduate. After spending time there during university I was excited to join such a close knit team and excellent practice.

After graduating from Edinburgh university in 2023, I moved back home to Sunderland to join the team at Vets4Pets Sunderland. I am very grateful to be working with such amazing and supportive team. I enjoy seeing a wide variety of cases, but I have particular interest in medicine.
I graduated with a Double Degree in Veterinary Medicine & Animal Science from the University of Lleida, Spain. I briefly worked in Barcelona after qualification before deciding to continue my professional career in the UK. I've worked in primary care for two years now and I joined the Sunderland team in November 2021. I enjoy the great variety of cases we see on a daily basis & helping pets and getting to know their owners is what makes me love my job. I have an interest in eyes and completed a post-graduate certificate in ophthalmology in 2023. In my free time, I enjoy travelling and taking my Chihuahua Yeti for beach walks
I graduated in 2019 with a Double Degree in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science from the University of Lleida, Spain. I moved to the North East of England soon after graduating, where I worked in a first opinion practice for two years before joining Vets4Pets Sunderland South team in November 2021. I have a strong interest in Internal Medicine, even though I love all the disciplines of Veterinary Medicine.
I am currently working on a Post Graduate Certificate in Internal Medicine.
In my spare time, I love to explore the countryside. I have a Chihuahua called Yeti who I love taking on walks.
My nursing career started in 2000 following an animal management placement at a veterinary hospital in County Durham. I completed my nurse training there and qualified as an Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2004 spending a total of 8 years in practice and gaining numerous additional qualifications before moving on to work with Rachel as an RVN in Vets4Pets. Almost 10 years later and I am now Nursing Manager and Practice Partner alongside Rachel and have recently achieved a Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Nursing which is my greatest professional achievement to date.
I joined the team and Sunderland Vets4Pets as a student in 2017, and went on to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2018. I then went on to complete a certificate in feline nursing in 2020. I have a keen interest in emergency and critical care alongside anaesthesia.

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2003 and have worked with the team at Vets4Pets for a number of years and during this time I have gained additional qualifications in Emergency & Critical Care and Feline Friendly Nursing & Behaviour. I am currently working remotely answering your WhatsApp messages, handling online appointments and making sure owners have the information they need prior and post surgery including dealing with some of the telephone post op assessments.
I am part of the community team who are involved with school visits and educational events.
I have 2 Jack Russell Terriers at home and would love one day to get another cat.
I am a final year student at the RVC university in London, hoping to qualify July 2023. I have completed all of my placements at Sunderland Vets4Pets and have enjoyed working with such an amazing team.
I have a 6 year old Cockapoo called Ollie who I love to take on long walks in my spare time. He particularly enjoys going to the beach and getting covered in sand.
I am interested in consulting and I am hoping to develop my skills in rehabilitation and physiotherapy further following qualifying in May 2023.
I have been a student veterinary nurse with the team at Sunderland Vets4Pets for 4 years. I qualified in October 2023 from Edinburgh Napier University with the help from this amazing team who have trained me. I have an interest in patient wound care and anaesthesia and hope to progress these areas further in my career.
I have a senior black cat, called Kiara who is 20 years old and hopefully I will be adopting a dog soon to join me on my hikes and travelling.
I’ve worked at Sunderland Vets4pets for 3 years now starting with my work experience then VCA course and now doing my nursing which I will hopefully be qualified in 2024. I love working here and have a strong interest in inpatient/hospitalised patient care, looking after all your pets when they stay in with us.
I have 2 dogs, a Boxer called Stanley and a Shih Tzu called Ruby. I love taking my dogs to the beach and letting them have fun on the sand. I also have a crested gecko called Freddie.I have grown up surrounded by animals and the veterinary world my whole life, and have always loved coming into Vets4Pets with my mam, Rachel, to see all the animals. I decided to change careers after completing my degree in Sports & Exercise Therapy and moved to working in Vets4Pets in Northumberland in November 2020 as a Client Services Adviser. In November 2021 I moved to Sunderland South Vets4Pets continuing in the same role. After almost 3 years in that role I decided to follow in my mams footsteps and I started my training as a Veterinary Nurse. At home I have 2 cats, Charlie and Milo.
Katie
Client Services Manager
I started working for Vets4Pets in August 2016. I love interacting with the clients and their pets when they come in for appointments. I have 3 cats, Scruffy, Ellie and Penny and a horse called Eammon. Outside of work I enjoy going up the stables and riding as -much as I can.
Having worked in the Customer Service Industry for 20 years, I started my role as Receptionist at Vet4Pets in February 2019. I thoroughly enjoy my role, especially getting lots of cuddles form the Pets as well as interacting with the clients. I have a crazy Boxer named Stanley & a lovely Shih-Tzu called Ruby. Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends.
I joined the team in Sunderland Vets4Pets 2019 after spending a 'long' time as a hairdresser and salon owner. I enjoy communicating with people and I have an interest in mental health, having recently qualified as a Mental Health First Aider. I love to meet our clients and their pets. At home I enjoy spending time with my family, our pets and pottering around in the garden
Having had a job in customer service since leaving school I enjoy meeting new people and their pets. I joined the team in Sunderland Vets4Pets in August 2022 after a job change. This is the best thing I have ever done. I love animals.
Outside of work I look after my elderly mother and spend time with my family, and going to music concerts.
I started working in Vets4Pets in 2024 after spending 23 years in the banking industry. Changing careers has been the best decision I could ever have made and I have not looked back. I enjoy meeting all the clients and their beautiful pets. At home I have a Shih Tzu called Cooper who we love to take for long walks along the north east coast line.
After 15 years in sports coaching (swimming) I made the decision to step away from the poolside and move into a new and very different role. I enjoy using computer systems and have been able to move this into my new role. I work remotely from the practice handling a large amount of the Digital Practice (WhatsApp) interactions we have with clients.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my family out and about. I can often be found on the side of a football pitch cheering on my boys or on the rugby pitch playing a game myself.
I previously worked in a veterinary practice in Northumberland on reception. During this time I assisted the team in completion of insurance claims. When the role became available at Vets4Pets I jumped at the chance. It was a remote working role, which meant I could work from home around my young family doing a job I enjoyed.
In my spare time I spend it with my family and friends.
