Jonathan
Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon
MA VetMB CertSAS PgC in Exotic Animal Studies PgD AVPS MRCVS
I graduated from Cambridge University Vet School in 1998 and have been practicing in the local area for the last 20 years.
My interests include E.N.T and reconstructive surgery, endoscopy and minimally invasive techniques, avian hard tissue surgery and reptile medicine. With several postgraduate qualifications under my belt I am an R.C.V.S. Advanced Veterinary Practitioner in both small animal soft tissue surgery and zoological medicine and recently completed my diploma in advanced veterinary studies.
I enjoy the challenge of first opinion work and endeavour to provide a fear-free environment for all patients, ensuring a positive experience whilst they are under our care. Outside of work I share the house with Sheldon the cat, four chickens and have expanded in to bee keeping.
I love nature, the sound of rain, and reading a good book. I declare myself a cat person but I love all of earth's beautiful creatures too. As a Mexican woman I consider myself a taco fan but I love all types of food, and I am also a football fan.
Back home I have four beautiful cats and I am hoping to adopt a new member soon. After studying veterinary medicine in Hanover, Germany I just wanted to work abroad for a bit. Decades later I still love to be a vet but just work less hours. After years of having cats (quite a few) the dog pack is getting bigger. And not forgetting the horses.
In Memory Of Stefan Matan
Practice Owner & Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN
I have been a veterinary nurse for 21 years, I have worked in small animal and mixed practices. I have a keen interest in exotics keeping most species at home over the years. I have 2 sons Leo and Charlie who also love all animals, Feathered, Furry and Scaly. I opened the practice in 2012 after wanting a new challenge and to have my own practice.
I started working for Eastwood Vets for Pets in 2015. I began my time on reception before starting to train as a veterinary nurse, qualifying in 2020. I am currently Eastwood's practice manager but you will still see me in clinics and helping all your pets as I love to do this.
Most of you will know my dog, Walter. I took him on when he was a day old as he had been born with a cleft palate. He is very much apart of the practice now. I have a cat called Alan and also keep chickens.
I started working for Eastwood Vets for Pets in 2016 as a receptionist. I then went on to train as a veterinary nurse and qualified in 2021. Since then I have undertaken a NCert in physiotherapy and rehabilitation and hope to complete the masters in this in the future.
At work I enjoy all aspects of nursing but have a particular love of the small furries and inpatient care.
I love everything holistic! I’m currently working on getting Eastwood Cat Friendly Accredited. I have a keen interest in pain relief and also process pet insurance once a week here.
I have been at Eastwood Vets for Pets since 2021 - the same year I qualified as a vet nurse. At home I have two crazy rescue Lurchers called Bruce and Horace. I have a keen interest in anaesthesia and also really enjoy nurse consults.
I’m a RVN here at Eastwood, qualifying in July 2022 after studying at NTU. I started my journey here as a student a few years prior and love working with the team and all patients that walk, hop and crawl through the door. I strive to give the best care possible and love my role here at Vets for Pets. I enjoy learning and improving my skills everyday so I can give the best service to our clients. When at home I love baking and crafting and always try new projects when I can.
qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2022 from Bottle Green Training where I trained alongside working in another Vets for Pets practice. Since then I have spent my time wisely since qualifying as a locum nurse in general practice, emergency care and charity hospitals to get an all round broad range of nursing knowledge!
I enjoy every single part of my job as a general practice nurse, I love seeing both pets and clients, but I get great satisfaction from working charity cases and have an interest in behaviour, both of which often tie in well together! I hope to undertake a post graduate qualification in behaviour at some point. Outside of work you’ll find me out showing or looking after my two horses Wiggles and Obi, at home with my cat Nacho or out walking with my cocker spaniel Mick. I love hiking especially in the Peak District, baking and gardening and growing my own veg.I have been at Eastwood Vets for Pets since 2021 and have since enrolled at college to become a RVN. I am passionate about animals and thrive at Eastwood with my amazing, supportive team by my side. My aim is to become a registered nurse and an attribute to the veterinary industry. I have a love for Labradors and have three red musketeers myself as well as two rabbits and two parrotlets.
I have been apart of Eastwood Vets for Pets since July 2021, since then I have had endless hugs, cuddles, tears and laughs. I find the most rewarding part of the job is having the pleasure of being able to be a small part of your pets life and always being there for help and support, through the good and bad. My house hold is just as full of love as the practice, having four dogs and two little cockatiels, I am never without my best friend.
I joined the team at Eastwood in 2019 shortly after completing my Animal studies at university. Originally, I began my role in client care, meeting, greeting and getting to know all of you and your lovely pets! I have rescued a range of pets over the years, working closely with different charities and even adopting my own rescue cat. I took a short break to go on maternity leave during 2021, before coming back to a new role as Practice Administrator. These days, I am kept a bit more busy outside of work with my toddler and sassy feline Mooncake! My favourite things about working at Eastwood are the fact that no two days are the same and the people I work with are brilliant.
Hi, I'm Louise and I am the head client care advisor at Eastwood. I love coming in to work everyday to see all your fur babies and help when you need it the most. At home I have 4 pugs named Dolly, Mavis, Doug, George and a Labrador named Mabel. I also have 2 Persian cats named Ronnie and Reggie and 2 moggies named Charlie and Dobbie. (So a house full)! Not one to stop there.. I have 2 horses named Stanley and Mali. Who I love spending time with!
I joined Eastwood Vets for Pets in February 2023. However, I have been a client there for many years and have always had such a great service, thought what a fabulous team they have, and how I’d love to join them if the opportunity ever arose. I was thrilled when I was offered the role of Client Care Advisor and can’t wait to meet and help many other lovely clients and their animal friends. Outside of work I can usually be found either at the gym, mucking out my 2 horses or snuggling with my two dogs, Teddie and Monty, whom my two grown up girls say are my 3rd & 4th children! I also love going on nice long walks with Teddie and my husband.
I started at Eastwood in April 2023. I have had animals all my life including Hunkies, Guinea Pigs, Bearded Dragons and Iguanas. I currently have a crazy cat called Sootie and a new Miniature Dachshund called Poppy.
I’m looking forward to meeting all our clients and their lovely pets.
Vets for Pets Eastwood is committed to bringing you affordable, high quality care via a modern, well equipped practice, including a lab, pharmacy, digital x-ray and ultrasound. Plus, on site car parking too!
The friendly team can't wait to meet all of their new clients!
