Meet the team
After graduating in 2004 at the RVC, Gavin was employed at Springwell Veterinary Practice in Hertfordshire for seven years before opening Vets4Pets Southend in April 2012. Gavin opened the practice with only two receptionists and one nurse. The staffing has now grown to employ five vets, four receptionists and five full time nurses and a practice manager. Gavin has two beautiful daughters who he enjoys spending time with outside of work.
Elinor has visited many countries, starting in South America in her gap year before beginning her Veterinary training at the RVC in 2004. After graduating, Elinor has worked in the Southend area previously and then spent six and a half months travelling to south East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii before coming back to sunny Southend and joining the Vets4Pets team in May 2014. Pets: Flint, a Leopard Gecko. Walter and Jessie, both Blue Tongue Skinks. A Corn snake called Pop, a Royal Python named Obelisk and a crazy Cat called Chewbacca !
Before moving to the UK and beginning my employment at Southend on Sea Vets4pets in 2017 I used to work for a charity hospital in Poland and a Neurological hospital in Italy. I hold a certificate in small animal surgery and I am currently working towards another certificate in feline medicine. Cats, especially seniors, have a very special place in my heart (self-proclaimed cat lady) and I am using that to provide everyday improvements on making the practice feline friendly. Outside of work you can find me in the gym, swimming pool or in the kitchen baking bread. Whale watching around the world is also an interest of mine. I'm a mum of 2 wonderful creatures: one toddler girl and one cat, luckily just one of them is semi- feral ;)
Hannah initially studied Bio-Veterinary Sciences at the University of Surrey before going on to complete her Veterinary Degree at the University of Bristol in 2018. After starting working with us in the summer of 2018, Hannah has gone on to adopt a cat brought into the practice as a stray, named Polly after her extra toes known as being Polydactyl! Outside of work Hannah enjoys exercise specifically running, going to Festivals and Travelling.

Nikki graduated from BCA in 1991 and has spent her years working across a variety of different practices including Large Animal, Exotic and Small Animal care. Outside of work she has two lovely daughters both currently studying at University and a 3 legged cat named Chocolate ! Nikki enjoys travelling and attending music festivals and concerts in her own time.
Eve has been working as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and joined our team in 2017. She has special certificates in Surgical, Exotic and Emergency and Critical Care nursing and enjoys working in these areas. Outside of work Eve works with charities rescuing sick and injured Hedgehogs and helping to care for them.
Lisa started with the practice as a work placement student, since then she has completed her training with us and is now a fully qualified RVN.
I have worked within Vets4pets since 2014 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2018. I Transferred to Southend Vets4pets in September 2022 and I'm excited to develop my skills and knowledge of Exotics species.
I have a British shorthair called Colin and in my spare time enjoy horse riding as well as socialising with my friends and family.
I have worked with animals since I can remember and have worked within the veterinary industry for 5 years. I qualified as an RVN in 2021 and joined the Vets4pets Southend team in august 2022. I enjoy all aspects of my job, but one day I would love to work abroad at sanctuaries. In my spare time I like to catch up with friends and family, watch plenty of Netflix and enjoy my aerial hoop skills.
I studied Animal Management at Southend College whilst gaining work experience with Southend on Sea Vets4Pets for a year. I was offered employment at Southend on Sea Vets4Pets in June 2016 as a Receptionist and in September 2017 I was promoted to Practice Manager. I have 2 cats, an old girl called Gene and a younger girl called Billy. Since being at Vets4Pets I have become a crazy cat lady and you can often find me in our cat ward having chats and cuddles with our cat patients.
Bec previously studied and qualified as a Beautician in 2012, but in 2018 changed her careers direction and chose to join our team as a Receptionist. Bec has a lovely Staffy called Lexi and in her own time enjoys going out with her friends and family.
Hollie joined us for work experience in 2018 before being offered employment in 2019. Hollie has a Bearded Dragon called Spiro and 2 beautiful Jack Russel puppies, Patch and Buddy, who love coming to see us. Hollie also holds a certificate in caring for the vulnerable. Hollie loves socialising with her friends and family.
Katie has been working for us since June 2021, but has been working for Vets4pets since 2018. Katie has a wide range of pets including 6 Tarantulas, a Hedgehog, Snake, Bearded Dragon, Leopard Gecko, rabbit and 5 cats. Katie particularly loves taking on the older cats for their retirement.
